Barack Obama took the oath today and became the 44th president of the United States. Celebrations are still raging throughout the country because this is truly a momentous time and I'm glad to be living through it.
Just like Obama discussed in his speech, this country, and this world, still have lots of problems, and of course any presidential administration isn't going to do everything perfectly, but at least the road that Obama is on is going in a positive direction! Now if you want to chat about it, I'm here!
And I want to know, did you go to any parties or any viewing celebrations? Did you stop at work to watch together or did you queue it up online?
Lastly, I wanted to include a song that I thought summed up the situation and the only one I could think of is below. I think it fits. Enjoy!

CNN video feed wasn't working, so I had to run to the front lobby pretending that I had a client meeting in order to watch his swearing in. LOL. I like how Justice Roberts phrased "so help me God" into a question.."so help you God?". That's the way it should be.
He was such a great speaker. Heck, I'm Canadian and I feel like I wanted to dust myself off and pick myself up and do more. You guys are so lucky to have the possibility of a great leader right now. We have Stephen Harper who I despise. LOL.
On a shallow note...what did you think of Michelle Obama's dresses?
Exhale is right. I'm breathing easy for the first time in 8 years. We have TVs at work and they were on all day. I brought a stack of work into the conference room in front of the TV and parked it there from about 10:00 to quitting time.
Hey everyone! Danielle, I know Canada is another country but c'mon! Not even a mini-viewing in the conference room! For shame, Canada! Yeah, it's a pretty inspirational time here which is a welcome change from the past 8 years!
As for Michelle's dresses, I liked them both (the second one better). I thought the coat dress combo didn't fit her body type well (I would have chosen something with lapels in a darker color) but it was still a very charming outfit. And the white dress was to die.
And Hi Sam! I'm glad you saw it but work! C'mon employers of America! I was eating and sitting back during the whole swearing in, the way America should have been yesterday!
But now that he's at work, you do feel a little bit calmer don't you?
Oh, lots of people had their conferences and our schools even had assemblys to watch. But I work in an investment firm doing trades etc, so my options were limited. But I did get some good sneaks and then I watched it again later.
No Dani, you're right, in these economic times, it's better to do your job instead of kick back and watch TV... But I'm still gonna say "For shame, Canada!" just because Canada has nothing to be shameful about and I think saying it is funny...
We have plenty to be shameful for.
I'm going to compile a list of things Canada can be shameful for and I will share later. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Celine Dion. LOL.
LOL, Dani! I am eagerly looking forward to this list!
Obama!
OBAMA!!!
